The Candida diet can improve mucous quality and Fertility.

The Anti-Candida diet is for every women who goes on the Liz Lalor fertility programme.

Introduction

It is vital for every woman to go on the Anti-Candida Diet for 6-8 weeks for the following reasons:

  • Mucous Quality: Healthy mucus should be noticeable and thick enough to leave a mark on your undergarments. Many women recall having such mucus during their teenage years and early twenties, but it often changes over time.

  • Sperm's Path: Sperm rely on climbing through healthy, stringy, and slimy mucus to reach their destination.

  • During ovulation, mucus should resemble the thick, slimy mucus one might experience with a bad head cold.

  • Red Flags: Poor mucus quality may signal issues like Candida infection and an acidic vagina, sometimes referred to as a 'hostile vagina.' A Candida diet is recommended in such cases. Candida can directly affect the consistency of vaginal mucus, making it difficult for sperm to travel.

  • Culprit: Candida can be triggered by the use of the Oral Contraceptive Pill.

  • Fragrance-Free Zone: Avoid using perfumed products or deodorant sprays in the vaginal area, as they can disrupt vaginal pH balance. Even perfumed toilet paper can be problematic.

  • Candida's Many Faces: Candida isn't just about recurring thrush. Symptoms may include acrid, poor-quality watery mucus during ovulation or premenstrual vaginal itching, tenderness after intercourse, or insufficient lubrication during sex.

  • Emotional Factors: Emotional anxiety can impact lubrication, as can a lack of sexual foreplay. Anxiety in the male partner can also contribute to the woman's anxiety.

  • Herbal Support: Consider incorporating soothing herbs like Chamomile into your routine to help with anxiety and stress.
