The Difference between Homeopathy and Herbs

Bottle of Ginseng liquid(Herb) and some Homeopathic pillules (Homeopathy).

The main difference between Homeopathy and Herbal Medicine is the way a remedy is chosen and the technique that is used in preparing the remedy.

Herbal Medicine

Herbal Medicine uses plants, algae and fungi that contain naturally occurring substances with biological activity from plants. Herbal medicines contain the whole herb and all the ingredients present in the herb prevent the many side affects often felt when taking synthesised chemical medicines. Herbal products support holistic treatment and they are administered in their pure, unadulterated form.

Homeopathy

Homeopathy uses plants minerals and animal ingredients to help with everyday conditions and can also help with very deep healing for the mind and the body. It uses very minute amounts of substances to instigate a healing response.

Homeopathy also uses the principle “like cures like”. eg peeling an onion makes your eyes water but a minuscule amount of Allium cepa(onion) prepared as a remedy will relieve runny noses and watery eyes. ie the onion produces a symptom and given in a very dilute form cures the same symptom.

Natural remedies are good for us and our Earth.
